I really needed a break. From work. From Champaign. From my daily routine.
Green Bay in the Spring sounds like a nice break - at least to me. Unfortunately for my aunt, the reason I am visiting is that she had to have surgery. I am here to help her through surgery and the initial days of recovery.
Today is Friday. Yesterday she had surgery to remove some lymph nodes. In December she was diagnosed with breast and lymph node cancer and has been receiving chemotherapy treatments since January. The surgery went well. The surgeon could not find any evidence of remaining cancer, which is the best news we could have hoped for.
Now I am back and forth to the hospital and spending a lot of time on the computer. I am mostly doing reading, so it is not a complete break from work, but at least it is a change.
