Sometimes I find - and I am sure that this is true for so many of us - that it is too easy to get tied up in the little things that bother us. My graduate school advisor gave me some great advice toward this problem, which is to say to yourself, when confronted with a dilemma, "Will this matter to me 1 week from now, 1 year from now, 5 years from now?" If it won't be a concern after a year, why should you worry about it now? Obviously it is not a big deal compared to the major issues / events in ones life that will be remembered forever. I try to keep that in perspective as I go through difficult days.
Exercise helps too, especially the rowing machine. Also, the greatest pleasure in life - besides eating sushi - helps, which in my case is kittens! Kittens! They are everywhere! One is on my left shoulder, moving down toward the keyboard! Hey, now moved him to my right shoulder, and he is chewing on my hair clip. Another two kittens are sitting to my left, and Wotan is resting next to them. What a joy it is in life to know that there are such dear pets at home, waiting for you to come home each day. Sure, they like the food, but they love me. Except for Cinnamon, that is; she loves Josh and Neil.
